Book Review: Twice Freed

Dear Reader,

Hello and thank you for reading this! Here is the following book review report of a book that I enjoyed reading and would like to share with you. Enjoy!

Twice Freed
 By Patricia St. John
Title: Twice Freed
Author: Patricia St. John

This amazing book is a historical fiction novel after the book in the Bible called Philemon. A must read! The main character in the book is Onesimus, who is a slave to his Roman master, Philemon. Philemon's son, Archippus, and Onesimus used to be friends, but Archippus is cruel to his slave because he is ashamed that he loves Onsimus as a friend, though he thinks it weak to love a slave and is cruel to him. Onesimus is also ashamed because he hates Archippus and feels bad about hating his former-best-friend.
When Onesimus' master and family become Christians, Onesimus is indignant. He lives for one purpose: To be free. He loathes his bondage and is stealing coins to one day buy his freedom. He fears the God of his master, for in Christ's light all sin is revealed. He doesn't want his hatred to melt away in the light of Jesus. The price of,"This new God" was too high for him to pay.
Read along in this book as Onesimus runs away, becomes a gladiator, murders his only friend, is rescued from sucide, meets Paul, become a Christian and goes back to his master after years of having them believe he was dead. Falling on his knees he says he has returned to bear the punishment and submit, having the freedom of Christ in his heart. Paul sends his letter along with him and Onesimus is embraced back home alongside his brothers in Christ. "In Chrsit there is no slave, no free, no Jew, nor Greek but brotherly love and peace.."
